Product Summary

Chlorine doesn't stop working when your kids get out of the pool. It lingers on the skin, hair, and in the body — irritating, absorbing, and disrupting long after swim time is over.

The Defense Duo works from both directions. The body spray neutralizes chlorine on the outside. The mouth spray supports the body from the inside — for the pool water that gets in through the mouth, nose, and eyes.

Shake. Spray. Swim.

Formulated for sensitive kids and trusted by families navigating eczema, PANS/PANDAS, mold sensitivities, asthma, and sensory needs.

Why Rinsing Isn't Enough

Chlorine doesn't just dry out skin. It disrupts the skin microbiome, depletes glutathione (the body's master antioxidant), and can affect the gut, immune system, and respiratory system — especially in kids whose systems are already running close to their limit.

For sensitive kids — those with eczema, PANS/PANDAS, autism, mold sensitivities, asthma, or MCAS — chlorine exposure can push an already-stressed system over the edge. The post-swim meltdown, the itchy skin that won't quit, the fatigue that lingers for days: it's not just tiredness. Their bodies are working overtime.

Swim Shield was created by a mom who figured this out the hard way. After watching her daughter — diagnosed with PANS at age 4 — flare after pool days, she went looking for a solution that actually worked. What she built is the product she couldn't find anywhere else.

The body spray — outside in

Body spray ingredients: Distilled water, non-GMO sodium ascorbate, non-GMO vegetable glycerin, magnesium chloride, iodine, caprylyl/capryl glucoside, reduced glutathione, Leucidal SF, 100% pure therapeutic essential oils

Most chlorine sprays use vitamin C and stop there. Swim Shield goes further.

  • Neutralizes chlorine on contact using sodium ascorbate (a gentle, non-acidic form of vitamin C) — transforms chlorine into harmless compounds on the skin
  • Replenishes depleted nutrients with magnesium chloride, glutathione, and iodine — three ingredients that support detox pathways, immune health, and skin recovery after swimming
  • Baby-safe preservatives — preserved with Leucidal SF Complete (fermented radish root) and gluconolactone (sugar-derived), not alcohol, parabens, or synthetic chemicals
  • Heat-stable, unbreakable bottles — aluminum, leak-proof, and built for hot pool bags; no glass, no mess, no worrying about potency degrading on a hot deck
  • Sensory-friendly essential oils — lavender and Roman chamomile to calm irritation and support skin barrier recovery
  • No harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrances, or alcohol

The mouth spray — inside out

Mouth spray ingredients: Distilled water, organic cane alcohol, chlorinum 30c, nat sulph 6x, kali mur 6x

Kids don't just get chlorine on their skin. They swallow pool water. They breathe in chloramines. They come up from a dive with water in their nose.

The homeopathic mouth spray is designed to support the body from the inside after chlorine exposure — and may help ease symptoms like fatigue, nausea, skin irritation, and irritability that can follow a swim day for sensitive kids.

The research behind it

Chlorine's effects on the body are well-documented. Here's the science:

FAQs

When do I apply the body spray — before or after swimming?

Before. Apply to skin, hair, and suit after sunscreen and before your child gets in the water. You can also reapply after towel drying or on clean skin after a rinse.

Applying before swimming is the most effective window because it neutralizes chlorine on contact rather than after absorption.

Is this safe for babies and toddlers?

Yes. The body spray formula uses plant-based, baby-safe preservatives and pure therapeutic essential oils — no alcohol, parabens, or synthetic preservatives.

As with any new product, patch test on a small area first if your child has highly reactive skin. For the mouth spray, consult your child's healthcare provider if you have questions about use for very young children.

How is this different from DIY vitamin C sprays?

DIY sprays typically contain only vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and water, which oxidize and lose potency within days — especially in heat. Swim Shield uses sodium ascorbate (a more stable, non-acidic form), adds magnesium, glutathione, and iodine to replenish depleted nutrients, uses professional-grade preservatives to prevent bacterial growth, and is packaged in heat-stable aluminum bottles that hold up at the pool.

What does the mouth spray do that the body spray doesn't?

The body spray works on the outside — neutralizing chlorine on skin, hair, and suit before it can absorb. The mouth spray works from the inside, designed to support the body after chlorine enters through the mouth, nose, and eyes. For sensitive kids especially, both pathways matter. That's why they're a duo.

How long does one body spray last?

Approximately one month for one child swimming 2–3 times per week. If you swim more often or have multiple kids, the Summer Bundle (3 body sprays + 1 mouth spray) is a better fit for the season.

Does the bottle need to be refrigerated?

No. The formula is heat-stable and designed to hold up in a pool bag all summer. Refrigeration can extend shelf life if you want to stock up ahead of time, but it's not required.

My child has PANS/PANDAS (or eczema, or mold sensitivity). Is this formulated with that in mind?

Yes — this product was specifically developed for sensitive kids. The founder's own daughter has PANS, and the formula was built around supporting kids whose systems are already running close to their limit.

The magnesium, glutathione, and iodine support detox pathways that chlorine can disrupt, particularly in children with these conditions. Always consult your healthcare provider for guidance specific to your child.
