Emily Davis, MBA
I absolutely love to swim — the hot sun, the cold water, the smell of chlorine and sunscreen. It all feels like home.
Swimming has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I swam competitively for nine years, played varsity water polo, and come from a family of swimmers — all of my six siblings swam competitively, and my parents were USA Swimming officials. Our family vacations revolved around swim meets!
Now, as a mom of four, swimming looks a little different, but the passion is still the same. A few years ago, I enrolled my oldest in city swim lessons, and after "two weeks of teaching them how to swim", the instructor put all her students back in floaties to go down the slide and play at the pool.
Way to kill everyone's confidence...I went up to that instructor telling her that my daugher was good enough to swim without floaties. I realized then that traditional swim lessons weren’t the right fit for us.
I taught my husband how to teach my daughter (she didn't want me to teach her). It went so well! Once she gained the intital confidence, everything changed, and I teach her now. We love spending time at the pool together.

About
THE WHY
For years, I taught private swim lessons on the side — just through word of mouth. Even without advertising, I found myself booked solid, with a waitlist I couldn’t keep up with. I was constantly providing written messages to parents and was wishing I had videos to send.
That’s where this all began.
Swimming with Confidence was created to help parents become their child’s best swim instructor. I’ve seen firsthand that it’s not me who creates swimmers — it’s the parents who provide consistent water exposure and the encouragement their children need to thrive.
I want kids to feel excited when they’re invited to a swim party — not nervous or unsure. Confident swimmers are safer swimmers, and they also carry that confidence into everyday life.

About
MY EXPERIENCE
My swim teaching journey started at age 15 with just one private lesson. From there, it grew into a full client list, high school & club coaching, and years of experience teaching children and adults — including beginners from ages 0 to 68!
One of the most meaningful moments in my teaching career was receiving a mentor pin from an Eagle Scout who had experienced severe water-related trauma. Together, we overcame fear, built trust, and helped him earn his swimming merit badge — a moment I’ll never forget.
With over a decade of experience, I’ve helped hundreds of families navigate their swimming journey — and I still find so much joy in the process.
