Showcase that you're an expert in your field

Submit an article and, once approved, we publish it under your name on the Swimming with Confidence blog. You share it to build your credibility and SEO. Up to four articles a year.

Every article is written for parents and swim educators, and every one is reviewed by a real person before it goes live. We look for play-based, positive content that helps families enjoy the water together. We don't publish fear-based content.

Topics we are looking for

We're always looking for fresh perspectives from experts in the swimming, parenting, water safety, recreation, and family spaces. Some of the topics we're especially interested in right now include:

Building Water Confidence

Helping nervous or hesitant swimmers, overcoming fears, getting comfortable in the water, and helping children develop a positive relationship with swimming.

Swim Skills Parents Can Practice at Home or Between Lessons

Simple activities families can use to reinforce skills like kicking, floating, breath control, jumping, body position, or water comfort.

Supporting Different Learners in the Water

Strategies for children with sensory needs, anxiety, neurodivergence, disabilities, different learning styles, or other individual needs.

Practical Water Safety for Everyday Families

Teaching safer choices around water, building layers of water safety, and navigating pools, lakes, beaches, boats, hotels, and other aquatic environments.

Year-Round Water Play and Skill Building

Bathtub activities, indoor swimming, rainy-day water play, keeping skills fresh during the colder months, and preparing for the next swimming season.

Making Pool Time Fun and Educational

Pool games, creative uses for toys, activities that naturally build swimming skills, sibling activities, and ideas for children at different ability levels.

Expert Insights for Parents From Swim Instructors

What instructors wish parents knew, how parents can support lessons, common challenges children experience, and lessons learned from teaching children to swim.

Creating a Family Lifestyle Around the Water

Family pool days, beach and lake adventures, travel, seasonal traditions, packing tips, and ways to create positive family memories around water.

These are meant to inspire ideas rather than limit submissions. If you have expertise or a unique perspective related to children, families, swimming, water safety, or water-based recreation, we'd love to hear it.

Why we do it this way

Swimming with Confidence was created to help families feel more confident in and around the water, and we don't believe all of that knowledge should come from us.

There is no single right way to teach a child to swim. Swim instructors, coaches, swim schools, therapists, water-safety professionals, and others bring different experiences, teaching methods, specialties, and perspectives. We want to give those independent voices a platform while giving families access to a broader range of ideas throughout their swimming journey.

Expert Contributors are individuals whose experience, knowledge, and perspective we believe can add value to the conversation. We use the word expert intentionally. It recognizes the experience and insight they bring, but it does not mean Swimming with Confidence has certified them as the best or only authority in their field. Publication is not a ranking of one instructor, philosophy, or teaching method over another.

All submissions are reviewed before publication. Swimming with Confidence may decline, revise, or remove content based on quality, accuracy, and relevance to the swimming community. As new research, recommendations, and information become available, we may also update or remove previously published content in an effort to keep our resources as accurate and useful as possible.

We want Swimming with Confidence to be a source parents can return to with confidence, knowing that the information we share is thoughtful, truthful, and accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time it is published.

Featured Experts receive additional visibility for their business or swim school through a paid feature. Those fees help support the resources Swimming with Confidence provides to families while giving participating businesses additional exposure.

We welcome Expert Contributors who want to add their voice and experience to the broader conversation around parenting, swimming, water safety, and learning to swim.

By bringing together perspectives from throughout the swimming community, we hope to give parents more information, more ideas, and more resources as they decide what works best for their own family.
