What you'll learn
These are the skills I recommend if your #1 goal is safety around water, especially if formal swim lessons aren’t accessible yet.

Bunny Hopping
Bunny hopping is a way to “hop to safety” as the water gets deeper.

Back Float
Once a child can float on their back properly, it doesn’t matter how deep the water is. They can conserve energy and breathe.

Fish Finning
A child can float on their back, breathe, and then swim to safety. This takes very little energy.

Wall Walking
A child can learn how to get around the pool by using their hands to walk around the wall and get to safety (usually a ladder or somewhere they can touch).

Float to Stand
Helps kids recognize their environment and shows them they can regain control.
